Research Scientist

Thibault is a postdoctoral scholar who joined the FME lab at INRAE in June 2026. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Dundee, where he described intra-species interactions that rely on public-good sharing. Thibault did a two-and-a-half-year postdoc at UC Irvine, working on the eco-evolutionary processes governing inter-species interactions in the context of bioremediation.

He is interested in microbial communities and their interactions, particularly in understanding how cross-feeding in different ecological contexts shapes bacterial evolution, species diversification, and interaction stability. Outside the lab, Thibault enjoys riding his bike and spending time outdoors.
